26.2 for Children Golf Tournament for Boston Children's Hospital

Hello Everyone!

All 19 years of my life I have lived in Easton.  I am a 2012 graduate of Oliver Ames High School and currently attend Saint Anselm College as a Biology major.  I love the town that I grew up in and am so thankful for all the friends I have made.  Now, I am reaching out to my community for assistance in something I am very passionate about.

Being a runner, I was beyond excited when I received an entry to the 2013 Boston Marathon.  Through the great oppurtunity I have been presented with, I want my run this year to be for something bigger than myself.  I began running a few years ago and ran my first marathon in Philadelphia in 2011 and currently run cross country for Saint Anselm. Since the number I received was from John Hancock, I was able to choose any charity I would like, and was not threatened with paying out a huge check if I did not meet a certain goal.

In my experience as an EMT I have seen some horrific and heroic moments.  The emergencies that have impacted me the most have involved sick and critically injured children.   These experiences have prompted me to raise money for Boston Children's Hospital.  The work that the staff of that hospital performs are truly miracles and positively effect the lives of so many families. I am friends with a member of the critical care unit at Boston Children's Hospital who has invited me into the hospital to shadow him, and also meet some of the patients that the money raised would help.  Seeing a sick child is heartbreaking; but if everyone's effort could make one child's life a little bit better, that's all that really matters.

I am organizing a charity golf tournament to benefit Boston Children's Hospital at Easton Country Club on Saturday, April 6.  The flyer for the tournament is attached in this article.  Please call or email me for a registration form or a hole sponsor form for the tournament.  Local businesses can sponsor a hole for the golf tournament and will have a sign put up on their sponsored hole with their logo for $80. The cost will be $95 per player which includes 18 holes w/cart, post-round dinner, and a tee gift.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners, long drive, closest to the pin, and putting contest.  There will be a 50/50 raffle and I have received some great silent auction items as donations.

This will be a great day for a great cause!  The deadline for registration is March 30, and for hole sponsors the deadline is March 23.  I look forward to hearing from everyone.  Thank you all for your kindness genoristy and support.

All the best,
