The Ames Free Library is delighted to offer free college-level classes on the library website at http://amesfreelibrary.org (Resources - Useful Websites). In association with the non-profit organization, Statestats.org, and in keeping with the Mission Statement which states that the library will "help the residents of Easton obtain information to meet their personal, educational, professional, and recreational needs," the Ames Free Library is offering over 3,000 college classes that can be accessed any time of the day or night. These 'Open CourseWare' classes have been offered by institutions like MIT, Notre Dame, UC at Irvine and other reputable centers of higher learning. Users can search for classes by subject. Each course is formatted in different ways with some offering video lectures and others providing reading material or lecture notes.
