Easton Children’s Theatre Presents: Rock and Roll Heroes, A Fifties Musical

  • July 16, 2012

The Fifties musical, “Rock and Roll Heroes” will be performed on Friday, July 20th, 7PM and Saturday, July 21st, 7PM at the Easton Middle School auditorium, Columbus Ave. in Easton. This fun, family musical takes place in the days of poodle skirts and bobby socks, motorcycles and ducktails, and plenty of old time rock and roll. Two opposing groups, the Greasers and the Soxers, come to battle it out on the stage. Amidst a ‘Romeo and Juliet’ romance and a rigged contest for homecoming Queen, one person and one couple come out on top at the big music festival and become the new Rock and Roll Heroes.

Talented young actor/singers from Easton and surrounding towns make up the cast, with Bruce Hadley as the leader of the “Hornets”, the local motorcycle gang, and Lily Vinocoor as his younger sister, Juliet. Juliet has her eyes on Roger, played by Andrew Kozak, but his “soxer” girlfriend, Veronica, played by Katie Ault, does all she can to get in their way, with the aid of her high class mother (Aly Flagg) and Roger’s equally stuck up mom (Rebecca O’Rourke). Elizabeth Hadley appears as Juliet’s mom, who has her eyes on the local delicatessen owner, played by Danny Greene. Ellie Ault and Max Romaine appear as the shy high school nerds who are thrown together by the antics in the feud between the two groups.

Other members of the “Hornets” gang include Michael Kjelgaard, Natalie Holmes, Jacob Less, Holly Chadwick, Kyle Foxx, Erin Flagg, TJ Clifford, Erin McWhinnie, Colin Green, Megan Foxx, and Natalie Toomey. Appearing as “soxers” are Nicole Geary, Owen Connor, Maria Aviles, Julia Hazel, Brendan Morrison, Molly Pike, Ben Volk, Ashlyn Butler, Bridget Dwyer, Alex Panaggio, and Danielle Geary.
With their energetic singing, dancing, and comic rivalry, “Rock and Roll Heroes” promises to take you back to a time when everyone loved to rock out to a good tune. Tickets are $10 at the door, or you may purchase reserved seating tickets July 16 through 20, 8:45-9:15 AM or 12:45-1PM in the foyer of EMS.
