Easton Wintertime Farmers Market at Simpson Spring!
The popular market, which usually closes for the season in October, will instead move indoors on Saturday November 10th as the guests of Simpson Springs off Washington Street.
It will remain open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday until May 2013.
Simpson Springs’ owner Chris Bertarelli said she got the idea while munching on Janet Orosz’ delicious sourdough bread and dipping oil at the Easton market and wondered what the vendors will do when they close up shop in late October.
"I thought, ‘Why can’t we just move everything indoors,’" she said.
Bertarelli has amassed a wide variety of vendors to set up stalls at the business.
They include Bridgewater Village Bakery, Oakdale Farms that continues to grow its produce in a greenhouse, Ruuska Pickles, Nella Pasta, Englenook Farms, as well as a seafood vendor, a chocolate maker and sellers of olive oil, farm fresh eggs and cheese, homemade jams and crafts.
Simpson Spring, a locally family-owned bottler of spring water, will also sell its water and all-natural hand-mixed sodas.
The business is open year round, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
The market shifted its summer location in late May, moving from the Natural Resources Trust Sheep Pasture to a Depot Street pullout at Five Corners.
This season’s local vendors include Oakdale Farms, Puppy Luv Bakery, Carroll’s Canine Kitchen, Jordan Brothers Seafood, Bridgewater Village Bakery, Confectionary Creations, Lawtons Family Farm, Foxboro Cheese Co., Rosie Bud Farm, Chocolate Bar, Running Brook Winery, Ruuska Pickle, Engelnook Farms, Omega Olive Oil, Liv a little specialty Treats, A Bread Company, Cape Cod Baking Company, Creative Getaways, Red Barn Coffee Roasters, The Pasta Man & Marshfield Trading Post.
