Free Soccer Clinic To Be Held This Thursday In Brockton

  • July 30, 2012

Crescent Credit Union is working with the Old Colony YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton to bring the premier professional soccer team in New England to kids in Brockton. The program continues this Thursday, August 2 with a free soccer clinic for youth ages 9 to 18.

The clinic will be run by four Academy coaches and two first-team players from the premier professional soccer club in New England. The clinic will be held at Marciano Stadium at Brockton High from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, and will allow 100 youth to learn new skills from professional soccer stars. Registration for the event is required and spots are still available. For more information or to register, please contact Vivian Rene at the Old Colony YMCA at 508-583-2155.

The clinic builds on an event two weeks ago, when the soccer club’s mascot and members of their promotional squad were on hand at a Brockton After Dark event to challenge kids in a speed kick. The summer program will conclude on August 12 as the New England Revolution host the Montreal Impact at Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium. Coordinated through the Old Colony YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton, two hundred Brockton youth will travel to the match to see their favorite players in action.
