Can you spare an hour a week to change the future of a child experiencing homelessness?

School on Wheels of Massachusetts (SOWMA) is seeking volunteers to become one-on-one afterschool tutors/mentors and positive adult role models for children living in the Family Life Center, Penelope's Place, and the David Jon Louison Family Center, all in Brockton, and other transitional housing facilities in Norwell, Middleboro, Peabody, and New Bedford.

As a SOWMA tutor, you will help a pre-K through 12th grade student overcome obstacles to learning and achieve his or her full potential. Tutor orientation training and ongoing support are provided. No prior experience is needed. A three month commitment is requested.

To find out more about becoming a SOWMA volunteer, contact Joanna or Elizabeth, 508-587-9091, joanna@sowma.org, or visit www.sowma.org.
