Personal Best Karate Charity Turkey Brigade Set for Saturday
The Personal Best Charity Turkey Brigade will be held this Saturday, November 17 at St. Mary’s School, Pratt Street in Mansfield at 1 p.m.
In its 17th year, the Brigade is sponsored by Personal Best Karate schools’ students, families and friends and has as its mission to provide those in need a Thanksgiving dinner.
The goal this year is to package 3,000 meals, which will pass our 20,000 families fed milestone since its existence. The public is invited to come at 1 p.m. and to help package the meals.
Along with corporate sponsors, children and families raised money for the food though Personal Best Charity’s annual Turkey Trot run in October, which raised more than $50,000. Friends have also donated canned goods, made cards and will package and deliver the meals to the receiving family’s door. While providing a great need to community, it is also at the same time teaching service and citizenship to children.
