The Town of Easton Recreation Department announced today with great pleasure that the Children’s Playground at Edwin A. Keach Park is open for public use. Like other parks in town, it will be open from dawn to dusk (with additional opening and closing considerations that will be posted publically).
In the spirit of community involvement, local citizens recently volunteered to help spread a large delivery of woodchips to prepare the playground for use and opening.
As a community town-owned park, citizen involvement in its care and use is encouraged. In addition, if you see activity in the park before or after opening and closing hours please notify the Easton Police Department.
Located on Chestnut Street, Edwin A. Keach Park is a 16-acre athletic complex, which will ultimately include five playing fields (three multi-use and two softball/baseball diamonds), the children’s playground, and a 140-space parking lot. Oversight of the park and scheduling of the use of the fields will be handled by the Easton Recreation Department. Maintenance of the fields will be handled by Easton’s Department of Public Works. The entire project is under final stages of construction with tentative plans for a grand opening for public use in the spring of 2013.
