Public Hearing Scheduled For Proposed Solar Array on Prospect Street

  • April 27, 2012

The Town of Easton will be having a public hearing on May 8 to discuss a proposed solar project on 114 Prospect Street.

The hearing will be at Oakes Ames Hall at 6 p.m.

Below is a invitation letter submitted by Town Planner Brad Washburn:

Dear Resident:

You are invited to participate in a public meeting to discuss the proposed solar array at the closed landfill located at 114 Prospect Street.  In September 2011, the Town of Easton issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to lease a portion of this Town-owned property to a developer to design, permit, construct, own and operate a commercial or utility class solar installation for the purpose of creating renewable electrical energy. After a comprehensive review of the proposals by the review team, the Board of Selectmen voted to designate Borrego Solar Systems, Inc. as the preferred developer. The developer has been working with the Town on the draft power purchase agreement and property lease.  Both documents are included on the 2012 Annual Town Meeting Warrant.

At the meeting we will discuss the proposal in more detail and the next steps.  Your input in this process is important, and I hope to see you at the meeting.

If you have questions about the meeting, feel free to contact me at 508.230.0643 or bwashburn@easton.ma.us

Sincerely,

Brad Washburn

Planning Director
