The Easton Chamber of Commerce will celebrate their ninth annual Business Appreciation Night on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. This event will be held at the Easton Country Club.  

The evening will feature the presentation of the 2012 Outstanding Business Citizen Award.  This award will be given to a local business person in recognition of their outstanding support of the Easton community and its citizens.  Selection will be based upon overall community support in the areas of financial contributions, employee volunteerism, sponsorship and community leadership.  The chamber will also be presenting a Community Service Scholarship to a graduating high school senior in recognition of a community service project that had a positive impact on the town.

The chamber is pleased to welcome their guest speaker, Jothy Rosenberg, a two-time cancer survivor, entrepreneur, extreme athlete and author of “Who Says I Can’t”.  Jothy was disabled by cancer in his teen years, and although told he had a zero chance of survival, he fought back, recovered and thrived.  His story is one of human perseverance, adaptability, and strength.  His book, which will be available for purchase at the event, inspires all who have faced or may inevitably face hardship in their personal or professional lives. 

The Chamber is also excited to announce they are once again offering a raffle of a beautiful romance-themed gift basket worth close to $500. It includes gift certificates donated by area merchants.  The basket will be previewed at different locations in town prior to the event, and tickets are $5 or 5 for $20.  Tickets will also be available for purchase at the event. You need not be present to win.  The proceeds of the raffle basket will benefit the chamber’s Community Service Scholarship Fund.

All Easton businesses are welcome to attend the Business Appreciation Night.  There is no charge for members of the Easton chamber and $25 for non members.
