AROUND TOWN: Former Carriage House Restaurant Sits as Rubble

The restaurant formerly known as the Carriage House and the Diplomat burned to the ground in November. Thursday, it sits as a pile of rubble overlooking Route 138.
Fire Officials determined that the fire was intentionally set, and it has been linked to a string of arson-related fires in the area over the course of the fall and early winter. Just last night, two were arrested in West Bridgewater for setting fire to a commercial building, according to the Boston Globe. Police are investigating whether or not the alleged arsonists are linked to the other fires on the South Shore.
The building in Easton was being used as a storage shed for owners Thomas DeCouto and Mark Perron of D&P Real Estate Management Corp.

I'd like to see a public park built with all of the benches made of recycled materials. There could be a tranquility circle where people could meditate on sustainability and a oneness with mother earth. They could sell naming rights for park structures like the "Burger King Gazebo of Equality and Tolerance." The entrance gate could be two statues of Gov Patrick and Pres Obama shaking hands. It will be beautiful.
.....or maybe just another strip mall filled with hair salons and pizza places.

Ah yes, there we go. It's so refreshing to see such jaded and cynical comments on the Patch everyday... if only I had the chance to meet some of these posters in person. How charismatic and beguiling they must be at a dinner party!

Jaded? Cynical? There is no lack of enthusiasm or distrust in my post. There is just a blatantly obvious thread of humor woven throughout. How sad, sad indeed, that you seem to need more of a Gallagher sledge-o-matic approach to see it.
So relax with a nice glass of wine at your dinner party with the table set for one.

I'd love a dog park! Fence it in, build a tranquillity garden if you'd like, recycled benches are AOK! Just fence it in and let the local dogs have a place to run!
