About Around Town: Every week day, we'll provide you with a scene from around Easton. Let us know what you think about the scene in our comments section!

On a snowy Tuesday morning, a bulldozer sat behind the Stoneforge where a large mixed-use development is planned.

After a few stagnant years, Queset Commons construction has picked up in the last few months. The Local Initiative Project or "friendly 40B" was approved by Town Meeting voters in 2008. It is slated to be a development with hundreds of residential units and additional space for retail.

In September, developer Doug King asked the town to apply to the state for a grant that would pay for intersection improvements at Roosevelt Drive and Washington Street.

Last week, King was named as Easton's "Outstanding Business Citizen" by the Easton Chamber of Commerce for his charity work over the years.
