Construction workers at the site of the former Ames Shovel Shops enjoyed the warmer temperatures Wednesday afternoon as they rose to the top of a lift at one of the historic buildings.
Developers told Selectmen earlier this month that they are on pace to finish the project in time, and the first units should be available for rent by the end of the year.
The construction process has been ongoing since spring of 2012. Developers are turning the site into a 113-unit apartment complex. The project included a a $4.35 million loan to Beacon Communities from Community Preservation Act funds, which was voted by the town in 2010.
What do you think the end product will look like? Tell us in comments.
