Battista Shoots Bentley Women's Basketball Into "Sweet Sixteen"

Easton's Lauren Battista led Bentley to a spot in the "Sweet Sixteen" after beating Holy Family Saturday.

Former Oliver Ames standout Lauren Battista scored 21-points at the Bentley College women's basketball to the Division 2 Sweet Sixteen with an 85-56 win over Holy Family University in Waltham. The No. 1 seeded Falcons improved to 29-1 on the season.

The junior forward is now just four points away from 1,500 for her career.

The Falcons, who reached Sweet Sixteen for the 19th time in 26 years, will host third-seeded Dowling College Monday at 7 p.m. in the regional championship game with a trip to San Antonio for the Elite Eight awaiting the winner.  The Golden Lions earned their first-ever regional championship berth with a 57-45 win over Stonehill College.
