Behn's UMass-Lowell Team to Face Battista's Bentley Falcons
Two former Hockomock League foes will be meeting in the college ranks Tuesday night.
Foxborough's Sarah Behn will find herself in a familiar spot Tuesday night.
Behn will be trying to find a way to stop Lauren Battista, but this time, they are doing it in the college ranks.
In her first year as the University of Massachusetts-Lowell women's basketball coach, Behn's team will be playing Bentley University and Battista, who is a sophomore forward, tonight in Lowell.
When Behn was the Foxborough High head coach, she had to find ways to stopped Battista, who was a standout at Oliver Ames High School, leading the Tigers to the state title two years ago.
Behn's River Hawks are 11-15 on the year and 9-12 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Her team has clinched a spot in the Northeast-10 tournament and is looking to knock off Bentley to improve their standing.
Battista, who is averaging 17.2 points per game, and her teammates clinched a tie for the Northeast-10 title with a 69-50 win over Stonehill College. With a win over the River Hawks, the Falcons will win the title outright. Bentley is the No. 1 team in the NCAA Division 2 rankings.
