Cronin Receives Committee Appointments
Cronin named to Joint Committee on Judiciary, the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, and the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs.
State Rep Claire Cronin (D-Easton) received her committee appointments last week. Cronin, who was elected last November, represents Precincts 1-5 in Easton and portions of Brockton.
Below is a message from her office:
After last week's formal session, Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo made committee appointments. State Representative Claire Cronin was named to the powerful Joint Committee on the Judiciary, the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, and the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs.
"I am very happy with my committee assignments. I am excited and passionate about serving on the Veterans and Federal Affairs Committee. As the daughter of a Pearl Harbor survivor, I have always had a keen interest in veteran's issues. I have already cosponsored three pieces of legislation in support of our veterans." Cronin has cosponsored legislation that will allow for home modifications for returning disabled veterans, tax abatements for disabled veterans, and prescription coverage for disabled veterans' widows.
Cronin noted that she focused on the importance of job creation and the economy while running for State Representative.
“The number one issue facing us is the growth of our economy. I hope that my work on the very important Economic Development and Emerging Technologies Committee will greatly benefit not only the Commonwealth, but specifically the Eleventh Plymouth District.”

So far her job creation record is 100% -- she has created a job for life for herself just by having that "D" after her name.

This is what happens when you vote with the Speaker 100% of the time. Her voting record is not for the taxpayers.

or perhaps it is because of her leadership within the House? Being a Democrat does not make her a bad person. I wonder if a Republican would be grilled this harshly...

I am more concerned with her votes rather than which party she belongs to.

Leadership? She's been there a month. She is still working on her followership skills that will ingratiate her with leadership.
But you are right about Republicans -- they're never asked tough questions.

I never said she was a bad person and I do not believe she is. I only take issue with her voting record, which which has been pro "Bacon Hill" and anti taxpayer. Hopefully she will see the light and change course.

Hmm has Claire Cronin closed her brockton based law office yet? She stated several times if elected she would make being state rep her new job. Maybe too many loose ends to tie up.

No issue with following. She votes with the Speaker every time. Not a good way to show independence and downright disrespectful to the taxpayers. She works for them and not the Speaker.
