Claire Cronin is officially the state representative for the majority of Easton.
The Easton resident was sworn in last week as a member of the 188th Massachusetts State Legislature. She was accompanied by Easton students Kate McLaughlin, Molly Alexander, Sarah Alexander, Rory McLaughlin, Kristen Alexander, Darragh McLaughlin, and Conor McLaughln.
The freshman rep said she is already taking actions to shape policy for the Shovel Town and Brockton.
"I am honored to serve this district," Cronin said in a statement. "I feel a great responsibility to serve the people of this district well. I have reached out to members of our local government to set up meetings to discuss how we can best work together. I hope to meet with community leaders in the next few weeks as well."
Cronin joins an Easton delegation of one other state Rep and two state senators.
State Rep Shaunna O'Connell (R-Taunton) was re-elected in November to represent Precinct 6 in Easton, beating out Sherry Costa-Hanlon.
State Senators Brian Joyce and Tom Kennedy represent Easton after running unopposed in November.
