DID YOU KNOW: The Declaration in Easton

Your weekly historical fact, courtesy of the Easton Historical Society.

 

On July 21, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was read in church and was then copied into the Town records.  July 17, 1976 Easton had a major celebration on the grounds of Stonehill College including arts and crafts, field day events, a picnic, and a torchlight ceremony with Representative John S. Ames, 111’s reading of the Declaration of Independence.
