Joseph W. Fuller Jr.
Joseph W. Fuller Jr., 70, of Taunton, formerly of Easton, a retired Easton Police Officer, died peacefully Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston with his family by his bedside. He was the husband of Judith E. (Searles) Fuller for 53 years.
Born in Boston on March 5, 1942, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Daurie) Fuller, he was raised in Easton and was a 1960 graduate of Oliver Ames High School and earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Stonehill College.
Mr. Fuller was employed by the Town of Easton for 30 years as an Easton Police Officer. He was a member of the Easton Police Association, the Southeastern MA Detectives Association and the Bristol County Drug Task Force.
A longtime resident of Easton, he moved to Taunton eight years ago. He enjoyed fishing, traveling to Venus, FL and devoting time to his family.
In addition to his wife Judith, he is survived by two children, Jill Fuller of East Lansing, Michigan and Jeffrey Fuller (EPD) and his wife Nancy of Easton; a brother, Richard Fuller of Kennebunk, ME., and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Roy Randolph Fuller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Covenant Congregational Church of North Easton, 204 Center Street, Easton. Interment will follow in South Easton Cemetery. Helen A. (Merrill) Cate
Helen A. (Merrill) Cates, of Easton, and formerly of Camarillo, CA. and Jacksonville, FL., died peacefully at home with her family. She was 90.
She was born Nov. 12, 1921 to the late COL. Foster E. and Catherine (Bradley) Merrill, in Providence, RI. and she is the last of her seven brothers and sisters. She was married for 48 years to the late James D. Cates and is survived by her daughters, Carolyn M. and her husband C. John Evans of Camarillo, CA. and Ellen D. and her husband Robert W. Bruce of Easton, and a son, James D. Cates Jr. and his wife, Dawn of Jacksonville, FL., as well as her daughter the late Catherine Cates of Jacksonville, FL., together with eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Her joy of participating in holiday events of her great grandchildren was well known, including costumes and festive family parties. She also devoted her life to volunteerism and remained active for many, many years both at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. and St. Matthews' Church in the same city, in a life led beautifully, with a heart deeply loved. She always remembered to tell all to be careful in their travels both "a-going and a-coming" and remained a true New Englander, wherever she may been.
The funeral was held at Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, May 31. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, Easton, at 10:00 a.m. . She will be buried in a private services in Jacksonville, FL, together with her beloved husband and daughter. In lieu of flowers and remembrances, her family requests that contributions be made in Helen Cates' name to the Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA. 02368.
Mary E. (Power) Antreassian
Mary E. (Power) Antreassian in North Easton, died May 29, formerly of Mission Hill and Limerick, Ireland. She was beloved wife of Dicran, loving mother of Keith Antreassian and Jennifer Ryan, grandmother of Devon and Leo Ryan, sister of Annette Peterson and Geraldine Kane.
