Edna H. (Gerry) Peterson
Edna H. (Gerry) Peterson, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at West Acres Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Henry C. Peterson of North Easton. She was born on March 12, 1920 in Arlington, MA, the daughter of Willis H. and Goldie S. (Sherman) Maddocks.
She attended elementary schools in East Bridgewater and was a 1937 graduate of Whitman High School. After her marriage, she was welcomed into “Swedeville” in North Easton where she had lived since 1941.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and part of their Friday night bowling league at Westgate Lanes.
Gerry enjoyed gardening, knitting, lots of reading, and especially doing crossword puzzles. Family was of great importance to her.
She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the Cape for vacations and they have fond memories of their times there, earning her the title of “Best Nana Evah”! She also never met an animal she didn’t like. They were all welcome at Maple Street.
Her survivors include one son, Emery Eric Peterson and his wife, Linda of Naples, FL and Wareham, MA; two daughters, Charlene E. Peterson of South Easton, MA and Lisa A. Nugent and her husband, Patrick of North Easton. Three grandsons, Erik C. Peterson and his wife, Lori of Naples, Fl, Scot K. Peterson and his wife, Meaghan of Mansfield, MA, Christopher P. Nugent of North Easton; four granddaughters, Jennifer L. Gay of Teaticket, MA, Heather J. Saufler of Jackson, ME, Caitlin B. Thompson and her husband, Phillip of Fairfield, CT and Stephanie L. Nugent of North Easton, MA; five great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters and also, several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the nursing staff of West Acres, especially Eric, Susan, Modell and the wonderful women of the activity staff. You brought joy to Gerry’s last years there.
The funeral was held Thursday, May 24, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 143 Lincoln Street, North Easton, MA

Norman E. Tibbetts
Norman E. Tibbetts of Naples, FL formerly of Easton passed away on May 19, 2012 in Florida. He was 75 years old. He was born in Brockton; son of the late Norman & Hope (Leach) Tibbetts.
He was the husband of the late Nancy (Greene) Tibbetts and the father of N. Scott Tibbetts and his wife Elaine of Gloucester and Shari Spadafora and her husband Brian of Northboro. He was the brother of Ronald & Virginia Madan of NH and Sharon & Robert White of Brockton. Grandfather of Aaron and Katina Tibbetts, Adam, Danielle, and Nathan Spadafora and great grandfather of Lillian Tibbetts. Mr. Tibbetts was the life partner of Joan Dugas of Plymouth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Tibbetts was a Veteran of Army serving from 1961-1963. He worked as an engineer for Draper Laboratories and was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Draper Labs. He enjoyed playing bridge, riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles, riding roller coasters and reading science fiction books.
A Funeral Service was celebrated on Friday, May 25, in the Covenant Congregational Church 204 Center St., Easton. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 26, at 9 a.m. in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Tibbetts’ memory to Avow Hospice 1095 Whippoorwill Ln., Naples, FL 34105.
