Thomas J. Hedrick, a 43-year Easton resident, died unexpectedly last week. Below is his obituary from Kane Funeral Home:

Thomas J. Hedrick, 68, a resident of Easton for the past 43 years, died unexpectedly Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Carole A. (Prentiss) Hedrick for 47 years.

Born in Boston on November 1, 1944, a son of Winifred (Madden) Hedrick of Birmingham, AL. and the late Charles Hedrick, he was raised in Randolph and was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree.

Thomas continued his education at Lowell State College earning a Bachelor of Music degree. He was employed by the Town of Randolph as a music teacher for 35 years at the Kennedy School.

A talented musician, he played in the Irish American Band "Mike Landers Quartet" and most recently for the "Black Velvet Band".

A founding member and communicant of the Holy Cross Church in Easton, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 238 of Easton and was a member and Past President of the Easton Lions Club where he was the recipient of the the Melvin Jones Award. His hobbies included gardening and taking the family dog for walks.

In addition to his wife Carole and his mother, he is survived by four sons, Timothy C. Hedrick of Easton, Thomas A. Hedrick and his wife Jodi of Seekonk, Todd C. Hedrick and his wife Kimberly of Easton and Terry J. Hedrick and his wife Lindsey of Easton; two brothers, Robert J. Hedrick of Stoughton and Charles D. Hedrick of Alabaster, AL; eight grandchildren, Jordan, Rachel, Sydney, Amber, Connor, Riley, Caitlyn, and Carter; also survived by nieces and nephews.
