Wallace M. "Wally" Fulcher had been a resident of Easton for the past 48 years. He died over the weekend. Below is his full obituary from Kane Funeral Home:
Wallace M. "Wally" Fulcher, 67, a resident of Easton for the past 48 years, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at home under the care of his family. He was the husband of the late Karen "Kay" (Lowndes) Fulcher who died September 17, 2012.
Born in Brockton on August 13, 1945, a son of the late Wallace M. and Norma L. (Coit) (Reagan) Fulcher, he was raised in Brockton and was a 1964 graduate of Brockton High School.
Wally began working at the age of 15 learning the construction business and after high school he founded Wallace Fulcher Construction of Easton which he operated for many years.
Wally later became the full time Building Inspector for the Town of Easton, a position he held for 15 years. After, he worked as the head of building and maintenance at Compurex Corp., formerly of Easton.
A longtime elected official of the Easton Board of Assessors, he was a volunteer member of the Municipal Building Committee which helped to oversee the construction of both the Oliver Ames High School and the Easton Middle School renovations.
An active volunteer at both My Brothers Keeper and the Easton Food Pantry his hobbies included fishing, trips to Disney World, baking and cooking. He enjoyed time spent with his family and grandchildren. Wally is survived by a daughter, Lisa M. McKenna and her husband Michael of Easton; a brother William "Bill" Fulcher and his wife Judith of Easton; beloved Papa of Molly, Patrick and Abigail McKenna all of Easton; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Karensue Fulcher.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, Easton, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton. Visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Wally's memory may be sent to My Brothers Keeper, PO Box 338, Easton, MA. 02356.
