Easton Police Catch Alleged Tire Thieves in the Act
Two were arrested for larceny Friday after allegedly stealing tires.

Two alleged tire thieves were caught in the act Friday night.
Easton Police received a call at approximately 9:20 p.m. regarding the larceny of tires in progress at 627 Washington Street. The caller described a black Chevy pick-up truck.
A short time later, Easton Police pulled over a truck matching the description with tires in the back.
William DeCosta, 48, of Fairhaven and Brian Murray, 48, of New Bedford were arrested for larceny and held on $1,048 bail. They were later transported to the New Bedford House of Correction.
Wood Stove Explosion on Randall Street
A resident on Randall Street reported a wood stove explosion Thursday night at approximately 9:20 p.m. Easton Police and Fire Officials responded.
The resident was asked to evacuate the house. Easton Fire Officials reported a pellet stove issue.
Suspicious Activity Reported on Sweet Meadow Drive
A nanny reported suspicious activity Thursday at approximately 5:50 p.m.
The caller said that as she was bringing in two small children from the car to the house, a '90's tan Nissan Altima with two young males (18-20 years old) pulled up. One male got out and came down the driveway trying to talk to the four-year-old child. Another male left in the vehicle. The remaining male then started pacing in front of the house talking on his cell phone.
The vehicle returned and they both drove off slowly. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
One Transported to Hospital after Turnpike Street Accident
One person was transported to Rhode Island Hospital Wednesday, Feb. 13, after driving off the road.
A 911 caller reported the incident to Easton Police at approximately 10:48 p.m. The caller said the driver was driving at a high rate of speed on Turnpike Street near the swamp and drove off the road.
Easton Fire Officials transported the injured driver to Rhode Island Hospital.
