Five Mile Road Race to Benefit Temple Chayai Shalom
The event is set for April 1.
Temple Chayai Shalom in Easton is hoping to have the town running April 1, when the synagogue holds its first ever five-mile road race.
The race will begin at the Olmsted-Richardson School and loop around in the opposite direction of the annual Turkey Trot, which is held every year on Thanksgiving. The race will run through Randall Street, Bay Road, Summer St, Sheridan, Columbus and back to the schools.
"It’s a great course," organizer Marty Weiner said. "It’s all on streets and its very safe."
Weiner said overall it is a five-mile run. Walkers are encouraged to participate in a two mile course, as well.
For people ages 19 and older, the entry fee is $25. For people ages 13-18, the entry fee is $15.
For walkers, anyone 12 and under is free if they register with a paid adult entrance.
"We’re encouraging families to come in and walk," Weiner said. "You and your wife could register for $25 bucks and kids are free."
There will be prizes for the winners in each age bracket.
Top level sponsors for the event include:
- Siegal Productions
- Personal Best Karate
