Great Escape: "Getting to Know You" at Maguire's or the Starline Theatre

In this week's "Great Escape" Patch offers a couple of options, depending on what you're looking for.

Parents: Between work, kids and all the other commitments you’ve got going on, it can be tough to take some time for yourself. But for those evenings or weekend afternoons when the kids are at basketball practice, spending the day with friends or staying with the grandparents, we’re here to help.

Each week, Patch will tell you about a great idea to give you a well deserved break—whether it’s a fun night out, a wine-tasting or a quiet way to spend an hour.

Here’s what we have for today:

* Looking for a place to watch the Celtics, Bruins or a college basketball conference tournament game, while enjoying great food and drink? Look no further than Maguire's Bar and Grill on Foundry Street in Easton (Route 106, near Five Corners).

Maguire's offers an extensive array of appetizers (try their Honey Hot Tenders) and classic pub-style food (pizza, burgers, sandwiches) as well as salads, meat and seafood. Be sure to ask about their daily specials. A full drink menu is also available.

* The Paris Cabaret, home of The Starline Room Dinner Theatre on Monk Street in Stoughton (off Washington Street near the downtown) will be presenting The King and I starting this Friday. Ten shows are slated for March 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27 and April 1, 2 and 3. Evening shows begin at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 12:45 p.m. Enjoy dinner and a great performance!

There is a $10 prepaid show charge per person, plus the purchase of a dinner entree (from $12.95 to $21.95). For Reservations call 781-297-SHOW (7469). Click here for more info.
