LETTER: Thank you to Family, Friends and Neighbors from the Edlunds

The Edlund family gives thanks to family friends and community.

Words of gratitude, appreciation and thanks will never be enough for what we need to say to our family, friends and community.

First and foremost, we cannot express enough thanks to Ken Bowman, Michael McGowan and Nathan Everett for their acts of heroism and the risks they took with their own lives to save Brian Edlund from the accident and burning car. From what we understand, not only were you angels in the rescue, there were many angels watching over you to assist you and keep you all safe.  Thankfully, there was a witness to the accident who immediately called 911 to obtain additional assistance and stayed throughout the rescue trying to retrieve additional fire extinguishers – thank you Lori Prew for your quick response and Christian heart.

The police officers and paramedics were top notch in responding and transporting Brian.  It is as a result of their expertise that Brian’s injuries were able to be determined and not compromised further.  We have been told that the timing of everyone at the scene as added not only to saving Brian’s life, but also in the contribution of the speedy recovery he is having.

The outpouring of prayers, kind thoughts and well wishes from the community has been overwhelming and humbling.  We are so truly blessed to be surrounded and protected by our loving families, our church family, our very dear friends and this wonderful community.  For the anonymous gift cards, meals, flowers and other assistance, we are so grateful.  It truly has assisted with our travels in and out of Boston every day.  We don’t think we will ever be able to thank everyone enough.

As an update – Brian was moved from the ICU this weekend and will remain in the hospital for approximately another week.  He will then be transported to rehab to allow his bones to heal for a few months.  His spirits and attitude have been very positive.  He appreciates all of the visits and the love and protection by which we have been surrounded.  It will be a long road, one we are thankful we are given the opportunity to take.  Thank you and God bless you all.
