Levine Reaches Base Camp

Maguire's owner Neil Levine has reached his destination at the base camp on Mount Everest.

Periodically, Easton Patch will post updates from Maguire's Bar and Grill owner and Oliver Ames cross country coach Neil Levine's trip to Mount Everest as he delivers supplies to an orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal.

During the trek, the Easton resident, along with a group of fellow "trekkers" will reach elevations of 20,000 feet. The group plans carry in over three hundred pounds of supplies, medicines, clothes, and vitamins to the orphanage. For more information on the orphanage, click here. Levine recently made it to the base camp for Mount Everest, elevation 17,600 feet.

Here is his latest letter home to Easton:

We all made it to Everest Base Camp Today.  Enough said.  We are all well.   Tomorrow Kalar Patar and our descent down the mountain.

Peace and love to all back home.  We miss you.
