The Tigers will play either Notre Dame Academy or Plymouth North on Wednesday
The 19-1 Oliver Ames girls are the team to beat in Div. 2 South
The Tigers girls' basketball team earned the top seed in the division Friday when seedings were announced at MIAA headquarters in Franklin.
The No. 1 Tigers will host a first round game Wednesday against the winner of Monday's contest between No. 16 Notre Dame Academy and No. 17 Plymouth North.
Tip-off time for Wednesday's game is 7 p.m.
The Tigers earned the top spot via a coin-flip, which pitted them against 19-1 Medfield. The Warriors handed the Tigers their only loss of the season last Wednesday during a back-and-forth contest in the Walpole Tourney Finals.
Should OA win its first game, a familiar foe could be next. No. 8 Foxborough of the Hockomock League is playing No. 9 Holliston for the right to play the winner of OA's contest.
The Tigers are looking to make a run this year after a disappointing early exit in last year's State Tournament. Last year, the Tigers were upset by Fontbonne Academyy in the first round.
