Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 24 in West Bridgewater

Two were killed in the accident near Easton's border.

State Police are investigating a three car double fatal crash on the Easton border in West Bridgewater on route 24. The names of the victims are not being released at this time.

Below is a press release from the Massachusetts State Police Department:

UPDATE: As of approximately 10:35am, all northbound and southbound lanes of Rt.24 and all ramps are open.  The incident remains under investigation and next of kin notifications are still in progress.  It is believed that one victim is a female in her late teens and the other is a male in his mid 40's.  Both victims were in separate vehicles.

10:00 a.m.: Troopers from the Middleboro Barracks, Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Plymouth County State Police Detective Unit/District Attorneys Office remain on scene of the three car, double fatal crash from approximately 4:00 this morning.  The scene remains active and the investigation is ongoing.  The names of the two victims are not being released at this time, pending family notification.  Other parties involved in the crash received only minor injuries.  Troopers were assisted at the scene by additional patrols from the Bourne and Dartmouth Barracks, as well as personnel from the Easton Police Department, West Bridgewater Police Department, West Bridgewater Fire and EMS, Brockton EMS and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Highways Division.  Rt. 24 northbound remains closed with traffic being detoured at Rt.106 and Rt. 24 southbound remains open to only one lane of travel.  There is no anticipated time for the reopening of these lanes. . Further information will be forthcoming later in the day.
