Question of the Day: Barney Frank [POLL]

How do you feel about Barney Frank's retirement?

We're asking Easton Patch readers a different question every weekday at noon. Questions could range from local decisions made by officials, to state issues, to national politics and entertainment. Whatever it is, we want to know what EASTON thinks! To answer, use our comments section below.

At a news conference yesterday, Barney Frank said he will retire at the end of the year.

Frank cited a new redistricting map that significantly altered the district he would represent. Easton would have been one of the new districts Frank would represent.

I'm disappointed he won't be running. I've always wanted the chance to vote against him.

We will miss Steve Lynch. He was for the working man and the middle class. Barney Fwank was too good to represent the aforementioned groups.

I agree with Patrick completely. I would have loved to have been able to vote against Barney. Let's get someone in there without Union hands in his/her pockets.

I challenge Mr. Barney Frank to be a dynamic force for Easton. He has the ability to be an asset to our community. He is only our rep for a short time . Lets bring our issues to him and find out if he is the leader that the Globe say he is. I am willing to give him a blank slate and a chance. Show us what you can do Congressman Frank. Best wishes.

Hi Anthony,
Just wanted to clarify - Barney Frank will not be a representative for Easton. The new districts do not go into effect until after the next election. Lynch is still Easton's congressman through the end of the election season.

Thanks. I like Steve Lynch as our rep. That is good news. Our next election will be exciting! Maybe an Eastoner like Fred Clark jr. will put his name into the race. Fred is former top aide to the late great Joe Moakley. It would be great to have a local congressman
