Queston of the Day: Should Mitt Romney Release More Than Two Years of Tax Returns? [Poll]
What do you think, Easton?
Former Massachusetts Governor and presumptive Republican nominee for president was in Massachusetts Thursday at his campaign headquarters in the North End of Boston and again in Roxbury, according to the Boston Globe.
His visit comes in the midst of calls from Democrats and many Republicans to release more than two years of his tax returns.
Romney, however, is standing strong.
“In the political environment that exists today, the opposition research of the Obama campaign is looking for anything they can use to distract from the failure of the president to reignite our economy,” Romney told the National Review this week. “And I’m simply not enthusiastic about giving them hundreds or thousands of more pages to pick through, distort and lie about.”
What do you think, Easton? Should Mitt Romney release more than two years of tax returns? Answer our poll or tell us in comments.

Quoting FAUX news to prove a point? President Bush allowed tax cuts for all Americans which are set to expire at the end of the year. President Obama wants to allow the tax cuts to remain in place for income earned under $250,000 a year. He is not increasing taxes as FAUX news would like you to believe. He is asking for the uber wealthy (income earned over $250,000 1-2% of Americans) to pay a little more and maybe not hide their wealth in tax havens. Romney should release his tax returns and put to rest the thoughts that he has something to hide.

Do your own fact checking at: 1) http://www.factcheck.org/2012/02/dueling-debt-deceptions/factcheck.org. $4.7 Trillion to $6.5 Trillion in DEBT, in just under 4 Obama-years. Then see what the projected figures are. Perhaps @Liz and @ John Owen, you could offer to generously pay for it.

Well I guess one could argue that President Bush inherited a surplus and left the country in a deficit what with wars, tax cuts deregulation etc. etc So many details so little time. Anyhow back to the topic- Mitt Romney should release his tax returns to put to rest any doubts about his credibility so voters can decide using reliable truthful information what is best for this country.

Regarding the "uber rich" aka making more than 250K... Those who are making that kind of money are usually more educated, with more college loans, more years of college and therefore lost years of wage earning during that time, paid their own way through college rather than having it paid for through financial aid, spening their money on higher end products rather than cheap stuff from other countries, already pays more taxes than many people earn in a year, are working far more hours than the usual person, and even built a business that keeps others employed. Increase the taxes on these people even more and you will see more and more of them leave the country, you will see less and less businesses develop which mean less jobs, and heck, they'll work less to keep under 250K. These people keep our country ticking...not the ones receiving entitlements and not those working for the government.

Wow - interesting commentary - To suggest that those making over $250K (approx 2% of the population) are the people who keep this country ticking is questionable - at best. If Congress continues to do nothing - the tax cuts will expire for all at the end of the year. We'll see out that works out. Anyhow - should Romney release his tax returns.

Liz I love your logic...and I do believe there are a lot more people who are college graduates and aren't even making close to 250K after many years of working ...but they.." must be the slackers that are getting all those entitlements....WOW Mike. Not sure where you get your info ....a little off kilter if you ask me
