2,800-Mile Takeout Run: Mississippi Man Returns Home with 250 Pizzas from Stoughton's Town Spa
Most people have a favorite pizza place. For David Schuler his is Town Spa in Stoughton, about 1,400 miles away from his Madison, Mississippi home.
But that doesn't prevent Schuler, a Stoughton native, from enjoying a slice (or more) of his favorite hometown pizza.
Schuler made headlines last August when he drove from his home in Madison, Miss. (north of Jackson, Miss.) to Town Spa and back again to pick up an order of 150 pizzas. He upped the ante this year by placing an order of 250 pizzas.
After enjoying lunch at the Stoughton restaurant August 11, he packed up his car with six coolers full of pizza and began his journey back home to Mississippi.

Mansfield Man Arrested for Pulling Gun on Magazine Salesman, Possessing Illegal Ammunition
A door to door salesman was allegedly threatened with a gun on August 10 in Mansfield. The man was selling magazines in Mansfield and had a pistol pulled on him.
Charles Cook, 47, of West St. in Mansfield was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, improper storage of firearms, possession of unlawful ammunition and possession of a firearm without a FID card.

Man Electrically Shocked on I-95 Thursday Identified
Massachusetts State Police have identified the man who was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital Thursday following an electrical shock he suffered after his truck struck sagging power lines on Rte. I-95 in Attleboro the afternoon of August 16.
“The driver of the northbound 2001 Mack 600 tractor-trailer, who received an electrical shock after his truck struck sagging power lines on Route 95 in Attleboro, is Joseph O. Irorere, 45, of Brockton,” said David Procopio, spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Police, in a press release.
The accident occurred just after 3 p.m. between exits 4 and 5 on Rte. 95 in Attleboro after Irorere’s tractor-trailer struck power lines on the northbound side of Rte. 95 and stopped. A second tractor-trailer – 2004 Volvo –operated by David Meltz, 55, of Prospect Hill, N.C. struck the power lines from the southbound side of Rte. 95 and stopped.

Sharon Man Arrested After House Break
Sharon Police arrested a local man Monday after chasing him through the woods following a report of a breaking and entering of a home on Beaver Brook Road.
The incident, which took place around 1:41 p.m. August 13, was reported by a resident of the property, who claimed she had returned home when she was confronted by an unknown man whom was allegedly attempting to flee, according to a Sharon Police Department release.
The suspect, Jonathan Deneault, 23, of Sharon, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering in the daytime, placing in fear, and assault and battery of a person older than 60.

Driver Injured After Crashing Car into Gas Station
The driver of a Cadillac convertible allegedly lost control of his car and slammed into the garage of the Route 138 Gas and Service station in Canton the evening of August 15.
The driver had to be transported to the hospital.

West Nile Virus Found in Norton Mosquitoes
Despite aerial spraying, mosquitoes in Norton have tested positive for carrying the West Nile Virus.
Leon Dumont of the Norton Board of Health confirmed that two mosquito pools tested positive for the virus in the northeast corner of Norton near the Easton town line. They were bird-biting mosquitoes, however.

Stonehill Hosts Fourth Congressional Candidate Forums
Voters heard a variety of different views from both sides of the political aisle the evening of August 14 at Stonehill College in Easton when Democratic and Republican candidates for the 4th Congressional District squared off in separate debate forums.
Democrats Joseph Kennedy III, Herb Robinson, Rachel Brown and Republicans Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs and David Steinhof were on hand to discuss jobs, the economy, health care and taxes.
The candidates are vying to fill the congressional seat left vacant by Democrat Barney Frank's retirement.

Former Red Sox Player Plympton Remembers Johnny Pesky
Johnny Pesky who spent more than 60 years as a player, coach and ambassador for the Boston Red Sox, died August 13 at the age of 92.
Wrentham's Recreation Director Jeff Plympton spent some time in a Red Sox uniform in both Boston and Pawtucket, and got to know Pesky. The Sox legend served as interim manager of the Paw Sox while Plympton was in Pawtucket in 1990.
