A Stoughton home on Winfisky Dr. is deemed a “total loss” by Stoughton Fire Chief Mark Dolloff after a heavy fire damaged the structure Saturday afternoon, March 24.
The fire started at 2:01 p.m. at 49 Winfisky Dr., located in a neighborhood off Bay Rd in Stoughton. Stoughton, along with four other nearby towns responded to the scene.
A total of six people live in the home. All five residents home at the time of the fire were able to make it out safely, as were the family’s four dogs.

Easton-Based Family Business Continues to Expand
If you happen to be at Militia Park this spring to catch an Easton Youth Baseball game, you'll probably notice signs in the outfield and on the uniforms of many of the players with the Morse Insurance Agency logo.
Morse's sponsorship, while a small investment, is one way that President Dan Morse says the company likes to give back to the community.
"It’s important to be embedded in the community," said Morse - a lifelong Easton resident. "That helps you grow your business."
He isn't kidding.
Since 1996, the once small Insurance Agency, based in Easton, has expanded to locations in Bridgewater, Marion, Sharon and Norton.

Norton High Named Innovative School of the Year
Norton High School was named this year’s Innovative School of the Year by the Massachusetts Biotechnology Education Foundation (MassBioEd) for inspiring students to explore life sciences careers through progressive biotechnology education and exemplary science career programming.
The school will receive a $5,000 grant toward professional development and equipment.

Sharon Selectmen OK Health Insurance Agreement
After a roughly 30-minute executive session, the Sharon Board of Selectmen on Thursday night, March 22, approved a health insurance agreement with Sharon's collective bargaining units and retirees.
The deal includes some increases in co-pays, but reduces premiums, Sharon Selectman William Heitin said.

Joe Kennedy III Comes to Mansfield
Joseph Kennedy III, a democrat running to be his party’s nominee for Congress in this state’s Fourth Congressional District, made a recent campaign stop in Mansfield.
Mansfield Democratic Town Committee 2nd Vice Chair Joseph Kaplan invited Kennedy to his residence in the apartment buildings at 150 Rumford Avenue in Mansfield earlier in March.
Kennedy took about a half hour to talk with everyone in the small but crowded room.
