Selectmen Candidates to Square Off in Live Debate

Candidates for Selectmen will square off Monday night live on ECAT. The debate will re-air on Patch.

With less than a month to go until the April 24 town election, the four Board of Selectmen candidates are bracing for the home stretch.

Election month will kick off Monday night, April 2, when the candidates square off in a debate live on Easton Community Access Television (Comcast Channel 9 and Verizon FIOS 22) beginning at 7 p.m. It will re-air on Patch the following day.

The four candidates are fighting for two open three-year seats on the board. Incumbents Colleen Corona and Dan Murphy are defending their seats while challengers Patrick Goodman and Michael Maloney are running for the first time.

The debate is co-sponsored by ECAT, Easton Patch and the Easton Journal. Easton Patch Editor Patrick Maguire and Easton Journal Editor Donna Whitehead will co-moderate the debate. Topics will include the Beacon Shovelshop Project, the South Coast Rail, the Crossroads Veterans District, the town budget, public safety, and a slew of other issues.
