Check out the Easton Historical Society's Open House

2.FREE Family Fun Day: The Learning Experience will be hosting Bubbles Buccaneer Bash, a pirate-themed family day on Saturday, Aug. 10,  noon-3 p.m. The afternoon will include a bounce house, refreshments, games and more. Dress the kids in a buccaneer outfit for the Baby Buccaneer costume contest that holds a first prize award of $250. The contest is for kids up to age five and judging will be at 1 p.m. Props are encouraged! The building will also be open for parents who would like to learn more about The Learning Experience and their childcare services. Open to the public. 3. Marketplace at Simpson Spring: Simpson Spring, a national landmark as the oldest bottling plant in the country, hosts a magnificent marketplace every week for local vendors to showcase their goods. On any given Saturday, visitors can visit 25-40 independent vendors displaying their wares and be entertained by a variety of artists. Examples include, local produce and dairy farms, the Oragami Owl, Hillcrest Farms with alpacas, soaps, candles, handmade jewelry, coffee roasters, bakeries, organic cleaners and deodorants, a bee keeper, dog treats, wall plagues, pasta, crochet lessons, tie dye, Simpson Spring tours and even a toy swap. The Marketplace at Simpson Spring is located at 719 Washington St., and is open every Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

4. Easton Historical Society Open House: visit Easton's local treasure, at 80 Mechanic St., for their Open House, featuring "Tools of the Trade." The exhibit will be held on Sunday, Aug. 11, 1-5 p.m., with a display of antique and unusual tools.www.eastonhistoricalsociety.org.

Book Signing/Live Fish Feeding: Bass Pro Shops, in Foxborough, is offering two events this weekend: on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 1:30 p.m., there is a live fish feeding and informational demonstration at the 34,000 gallon freshwater educational aquarium filled with over 400 native New England fish. Bass Pro Shops also has a 5,500 gallon turtle pond and a 3,800 gallon trout pool Great FREE entertainment for the entire family!

5. On Sunday, Aug. 11, celebrity chef Ben Sargent will be holding a two-hour cooking demonstration and book signing of his new cookbook, 'The Catch,' (also available for purchase) at Bass Pro Shops. Sargent, a Cambridge native and host of the Cooking Channel's hit show, 'Hook Line and Dinner,' will be cooking on camping stoves from noon-2 p.m. This is a FREE event.
