Boy Who Died in Zip Line Accident Laid to Rest

Matthew Cox, who died following a zip line accident in Easton, was laid to rest this week.

The Hanover community paid its final tribute to Matthew Cox Thursday as hundreds came out to say their goodbyes at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, reports The Patriot Ledger.

Cox, 10, passed away last week after weeks on life support. Cox was critically injured in a zip line accident at his uncle's house in Easton, MA on Dec. 26. Originally from the Hanover area, Cox's family had moved to Maine last year.

Thursday's tribute was organized by Lori Coughlin and Libby Corbo, a member of the Hanover School Committee. In tribute to Cox, who was active in local youth sports before his family moved to Maine, hockey players formed an archway of raised hockey sticks as Cox's casket was carried from the church.
