LED Streetlight Conversion Project Begins

More than 1,000 streetlights will be changed over to save electricity and costs.

The town of Easton began an extensive streetlight conversion project on Friday, April 4 - a project that will convert more than 1,000 of the town’s streetlights to high efficiency LED streetlights over the next few weeks.

The project is funded by a Green Communities Grant and utility incentives.

Once completed, town officials say they project will save 234,000 kWh of electricity annually, resulting in a $41,000 annual savings.

Dagle Electrical Construction is the project’s contractor and will have six crews working throughout town until the project is complete.
