Moment of Silence at 2:49 p.m. for Marathon Victims
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the bombings at the Boston Marathon that killed three people.
Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced a moment of silence will be held today at 2:49 p.m. in memory of those affected by last year's Boston Marathon bombings.
Tuesday marks the one-year anniversary of the bombings. Two bombs exploded near the finish line, killing three people and injuring more than 260. The first bomb exploded at 2:49 p.m.
President Obama is expected to participate in today's moment of silence.
Boston officials said the social media hashtag #WeRunTogether is being used to chronicle remembrances.
