Calling all cheerleaders-Cheer for Dana-Farber: Organize your cheerleading squad this weekend and register your team for 'Cheer for Dana-Farber,' a new fundraiser that will help support adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. All New England cheerleading teams, including Pop Warner, middle and high school, and all-star teams, are invited to participate. The fundraiser officially kicks off on Sept. 2 and will conclude on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28. Participants will receive official T-shirts, banners, cash collection canisters and posters. To participate in Cheer for Dana-Farber, cheerleading teams can fundraise in their local communities through initiatives such as car washes, bake sales, and canister collections. There is no minimum fundraising requirement, but teams are required to register. All teams that raise $1,000 or more will be entered into a drawing for the grand prize—a chance to perform a cheerleading routine during the pre-game show for the Dec. 29 New England Patriots game against the Buffalo Bills. Each additional $1,000 raised earns teams an additional ticket entered into the drawing. The top five fundraising teams will be invited to a master cheer class run by the New England Patriots cheerleaders at the Dana-Farber Field House at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. To learn more about Cheer for Dana-Farber—including all prizes and official rules—or to register your team, visit: www.cheerfordanafarber.org.
