AROUND TOWN: Farmer's Daughter Aims for Spring Opening

The new breakfast and lunch restaurant will be in the space of the former Main Street Cafe.

About Around Town: Every week day, we'll provide you with a scene from around Easton. Let us know what you think about the scene in our comments section!

The storefront on Main Street formerly known as Main Street Cafe was under construction Wednesday morning, and it has been for the last few weeks.

The end product will be a new breakfast and lunch restaurant called The Farmer's Daughter. Although the restaurant was originally scheduled to open at the end of last year, the old building required a more extensive renovation, according to Farmer's Daughter owner Chandra Gouldrup. Gouldrup is aiming for a spring opening.

Thanks for the update! Would love to know more about the focus of the food! Local and organic? Sustainable and gourmet? So excited!

When you look at recent pictures of the interior, it is obvious that this place will not be a breakfast and lunch spot for long. A full liquor license and the style of booths they've installed mean this will be a lounge/bar before too long. Wait until the "revitalization" of Main Street starts....That's when they'll start opening at night because morning and daytime traffic will dry up. A bar on Main Street next door to the Children's Museum and a Pre-School. How safe.
