Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Lays Off 65

The Wellesley-based health insurer cut its workforce by about 6.5 percent, reported The Boston Globe.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care laid off 65 workers this week, which cuts its workforce to 1,265 employees, reported The Boston Globe.

All but three of the jobs lost were cut in Massachusetts. Plus, the Wellesley-based insurer will cut 65 open positions, but add 12 new ones, reported the Globe.

The insurer said in a statement the cuts are to re-organize the structure to meet the changing needs in health care.
