North Easton Savings Assists With Public Safety Communication

The bank is donating space and money for a radio antenna in what has been a dead zone for Easton firefighters

President and CEO Thomas Deubler told Easton Selectmen Monday night said his company is "fortunate" to be able to help the town.

Deubler presented the town with a donation of $5,680, which will improve public safety in town and cover the full cost and installation of radio equipment for the Easton Fire Department.

The equipment will help with what has been a "dead zone" for the Easton Fire Department at the corner of Eastman and Foundry Street.

North Easton Savings will also offer space for an antenna on the roof of its Eastman Street location.

"We’ve identified some dead zones throughout the town," Easton Firefighter Glen Corbett said. "One of the areas we’ve identified is up near the North Easton Savings Bank on Eastman."

North Easton Savings also provided the same space for a police radio antenna last year, which was paid for with a grant. Deubler said the bank's Board of Directors felt a fire antenna was worth the donation.

"We felt it was important Fire Department had that same communication," he said.
