Owen O'Leary's to Open Additional Location in Westborough

Owen O'Leary's Restaurant and Pub hopes to open in Westborough before St. Patrick's Day.

Owen O’Leary’s Restaurant and Pub plans to open its third eatery – a brewpub – at the former Piccadilly Pub on Connector Road in Westborough, targeting before St. Patrick’s Day.

The move will end a four-year search for a new home for the brewpub that was at the Hampton Inn in Natick, Owen O’Leary’s owner Kevin Gill said Monday night. The Natick location closed in 2008, ending 12 years there, he said.

The restaurant currently has locations at 50 Turnpike Road, Southborough and 1280 Belmont St., Brockton, on the Easton line.

Gill said he has signed a 20-year lease for the space at 17 Connector Road in Westborough, contingent on the proper permits. A Dec. 11 liquor license public hearing with selectmen is next. A late February-early March opening is eyed, he said.

“For four years, we’ve been scouting for the right property,” Gill said.

“We think that that location will make the lunch very strong. The after work crowd will be very strong at that location also.”

Owen O’Leary’s would “brew our own beer” in Westborough, Gill said.

“The microbrewery business is still strong,” he said.
