“Last year we were able to assist several people, such as a 68 year-old woman on a fixed income who could not afford to pay her past due oil bill and had no hot water or heat, and a 79 year-old widow and her disabled daughter who had been without heat for two days.  Each year we see an increase in the number of people on a fixed income needing assistance.  We hope to raise over $6,000 for the emergency fund to help those in crisis situations,” explained Diana DiGiorgi, Executive Director of OCES.
