The MARKETPLACE at Simpson Spring

Moxie! Great Memorial Day Recipes! Photo Contest! Great things at the Marketplace at Simpson Spring!

SATURDAY 5/25/13 | 10:00am - 2:00pm

This Memorial Day
This weekend, as we all take a few moments to honor and celebrate the brave and selfless who have given their lives in the name of our country, we believe it is important to also acknowledge all that makes our country what it is.  Here, people have a chance to test and fulfill dreams. Give a real shot to great ideas. This is what our country was founded on. The great idea behind our Marketplace is to help our local community members, our local business folk and creatives try to establish if their business idea is sound. Our entire Marketplace gives thanks this weekend to all of those who have created this great place where we have the freedom to explore these great ideas. Without all of them, and all of you... we wouldn't exist. We are proud to take a few moments this weekend to raise our glass to those who have made this also possible. This weekend, we are excited to be also celebrating Moxie! Any servicemember who attends the market this week can stop by the Simpson Spring booth for a FREE soda, either Simpson Spring or Moxie!

Bring a six pack of Moxie to your outdoor barbecue! We have just received a huge shipment of Moxie at the Spring! We have added it to our offering because we have had so many requests.  Simpson Spring is happy to be hosting the President of New England Moxie Congress for a tour this Sunday!  We know that Moxie has a lot of fans out there. If you haven't had one, we've heard that there are videos on YouTube that teach you how to enjoy your first Moxie. As most Moxie enthusiastic will attest..."What this Country Needs is Plenty of Moxie."

Ideas From Englenook Farms

  •  Add Narragansett to your Moxie party, by using some Herb and Garlic in your potato salad or twice baked potatoes. Salty sea Feta for that fresh garden salad, some Atwells Gold for the Burgers. Of course there are plenty of spreads to serve with your appetizers.
  • Great Hill Blue Cheese puts a whole new spin on your backyard burger. Also great on your steaks or in your salad. Also impress your friends and family with the best home made Blue cheese dressing they've ever had
  • Neighborly Farms Organic Cheddars, offer a huge variety of flavors that go great with anything your planning for kicking off your summer festivities. Melted over those fresh picked vegetables you may be grilling.
  • Last but not least don't forget to pick up your Sweet Heat Pepper Jelly. Great for in or on your burgers, add to macaroni salad for a nice kick, and don't forget to top those sausages with the surprise condiment, Engelnook Farms own Sweet Heat pepper Jelly.
Ideas from Destiny Revealed
  • For holidays and BBQs, my Mom made a great Sherbet Punch. Bonus: It can be made using your favorite Simpson Spring soda! Pick a flavor or color scheme, for example: Orange. Pour into a large punch bowl: Orange ZaRex, Orange & Lemon-lime or Ginger ale soda, add scoops of orange sherbet & orange slices. It's yummy & looks fun as the sherbet foams up! For adult parties, any clear alcohol could be added (vodka, rum or gin).
  • Kabobs. Fruit Kabobs: wedges of watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, oranges or kiwi can be combined on a skewer with strawberries, grapes or cherries...it's easy for kids to grab & go (yogurt dip optional). Raw Veggie Kabobs: cucumber, peppers, tomatoes, snow peas & cheese cubes on a skewer make a quick 1 hand salad! (dressing can be drizzled on if desired). Seasoned & Roasted Veggies Kabobs: onions, peppers, potatoes, yams, zucchini, small corn on cob sections or whatever you like...on a skewer...some people prefer to add pieces of meat
  • Chocolate Trifle: All you need is chocolate cake (baked, cooled & cut in small squares),instant chocolate pudding mixed with milk chocolate chips cool whip. Line the bottom of trifle/glass bowl with cake pieces, then layer pudding, chocolate chips & cool whip until full...top w/chocolate chips this can be made with yellow, pond or sponge cake, sliced strawberries or other berries, vanilla pudding or flavored yogurt & cool whip, topped w/berries
