42 Percent of Easton Still Without Power

The latest numbers from National Grid for the region.

National Grid released its latest outage numbers Tuesday afternoon, showing that 42 percent of Easton was still lacking power.

National Grid said that of the 9,311 customers it serves in Easton, 3,945 were still without power as of 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Most of Easton's outages are in the Borderland State Park area and parts of North Easton Village.

At its peak, 7,421 customers were without power. However, many had power restored Monday night and Tuesday morning in parts of South Easton and along the route 138 corridor.

While had power restored Monday night, had power restored mid-day Tuesday.

Police Chief Allen Krajcik reminded residents Monday that those in need of water could receive it from the town's municipal buildings. Additionally, emergency officials and National Grid officials have reminded residents to stay away from down wires.
