5 Things November 6 in Easton: Election Day and Soccer

It's a busy day on a few fronts in Easton today.

1. Election Day is today

Today is election day. Be sure to stay with us throughout the day and follow along here. We'll keep you updated on turnout and how things are going at the polls.

2. Oliver Ames Boys and Girls Soccer

The Oliver Ames boys and girls soccer teams will be in the MIAA South Sectional quarterfinals today. The girls will travel to Whitman-Hanson for a 6 p.m. game. The boys game against Walpole was moved from Muscato Stadium to Marciano Stadium at Brockton High by the Town of Easton and School Committee due to elections at the high school. Start time is 6:30 p.m.

3. Special Town Meeting Nov. 19

The Town of Easton will hold a Special Town Meeting on Monday, Nov. 19, at the Oliver Ames High School Auditorium on Lothrop Street. For a copy of the DRAFT warrant, please click here.

4.  Storm Debris Cleanup

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS: The Town of Easton Department of Public Works will temporarily accept Storm Debris at the Prospect Street Landfill located at 114 Prospect Street on the following days between the hours of 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM:

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 3rd
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9th
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 10th

Only normal Storm Debris consisting of limbs and brush will be accepted from Easton residents. No leaves or grass clippings will be accepted. Landscapers, tree companies, or commercial contractors WILL NOT be allowed to use this location regardless of where the debris was collected from.

This is a service for Easton residents to dispose of storm debris resulting from Hurricane Sandy. The Town will not be picking up debris from private property. Residents are asked not to drag debris to the side of the road. Storm debris determined to be from private property will not be removed. If you have any questions regarding storm debris, please call the Department of Public Works at (508) 230-0800.
