ESPN-Boston: Oliver Ames Football Could be a Surprise Team

Could the Oliver Ames football team be one of the surprised teams this fall?

In their pre-season outlook, ESPN-Boston says the Tigers could be one of the teams, who could find themselves in the hunt for the playoffs.

They are predicting Tiger quarterback Nick Cidado could be one of the breakout candidates after throwing 14 passes and rushing for another three in 2012.

After going all the way to the Super Bowl two years, the Tigers followed that up with a 6-4 season last year.

This year, the Tigers are in a different division with the new playoff structure. OA is Division 3 Southwest with Hockomock League rivals Stoughton and Milford, while Sharon, last year's Davenport Division and Super Bowl champion, is in Division 3 Southeast. OA and Sharon will play during the regular season and then again on Thanksgiving.

The two other Davenport League teams, Canton and Foxborough are in Division 4 South.
