Five Easton Huskies Named to Cranberry League All-Star Team

The Cranberry League, the Boston Park League, Intercity League and the Yawkey League all-stars will be playing in the Eastern Massachusetts Amateur Baseball Classic at Rockland Stadium.

Five Easton Huskies will be playing for the Cranberry League all-star team when they play the Boston Park League in Eastern Massachusetts Amateur Baseball Classic at Rockland Stadium today at noon. 
The Intercity League all-stars will face the Yawkey stars at 3:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., the two winners will square off. Admission is free.
Dave Billotte, a former Norton High standout, and Brian Medarios were named as infielders from the Huskies, while pitchers Nate Bayuk, a Foxborough native, who played at Boston College and Joey Lucier were named as pitchers. 
Former Foxborough High standout Nick Thrasher, who attends Eastern Carolina University, was voted on to the team by the fan vote, getting 17.4 percent of the vote.
The Braintree White Sox are running away with the league and will have one of the playoff spots in the upcoming Stan Musial Tournament. 
With the second spot, it's turning into a three team race for the one spot. The Canton A's are in second place at 12-7, two points ahead with 24, Easton and Weymouth, who are 11-9, both have 22 points.
When Easton gets back in action, they will have some key games coming up, facing the Weymouth Phillies Tuesday at Frothingham Park at 6 p.m. and then traveling to Kingston to play the Pirates Thursday at 6 p.m.
The Huskies defeated the Brockton Dirtdogs, 7-4, Thursday night at Stonehill College as Adam Tempesta drove in two runs and had a double in the win. Phil Towne got the win in relief of Bayuk, going three innings.
Easton got a big win Wednesday night, edging out the Kingston Pirates, 4-3, at Frothingham Park. Lucier went the distance to improve to 5-2 on the year.
Dan Morse had a big night at the plate, going 3 for 3 with two doubles. Medairos drove in two runs, while Thrasher and Tempesta each had RBI.
