Volunteer to make a difference

Submitted to Easton Patch:

Valentine’s Weekend – on Saturday, Feb. 16th, some of the top professional children’s entertainers from the northeast will perform in Newtown, CT for the children of the Sandy Hook School that were affected by the tragic shooting.

The Cartoon Actors Network of Easton,MA is working with the Parks and Recreation Dept. of Newtown, CT. and GigMaster Talent Agency of Stamford, CT., to put on the Miles of Smiles show.

In the line-up for Miles of Smiles are four of the top rated children’s magicians; Silly Billy, NYC, Margaret Steele, NY, Mike Bent, Boston and Arnie Kolodner, NYC. Also, there will be face painters, balloon artist and 25 costumed characters ranging from superheroes, story telling princesses, funny ducks, mice and a host of other lovable characters to provide age appropriate entertainment specifically for the children of Newtown.

More volunteers are needed for the costumed characters and support staff to make this event a success and bring love to these children on Valentine’s Weekend. Teachers, police offices, firefighters, and anyone that has passed a recent Criminal Offense Records Investigation (CORI) are encouraged to apply for characters – all are welcome for support staff. Training will be provided.

Bring a smile to a child and help heal the hurt. We would also like children from local neighborhood schools to send us Valentine’s Cards sharing their love with the children of Sandy Hook School, which we will deliver. Time is short please spread the word.

For those that would like to help sponsor the production cost of the show can find us on facebook under Miles of Smiles Fund or mail checks to;
